December 15, 2017

Dear NCS Parents,

As a school we have been focusing on the beauty of the Advent season and how important it is to prepare our hearts for Jesus’ coming. The prophet Isaiah foretold of Jesus’ birth and this gave us HOPE as children of God. In knowing a Messiah was to be born, this gave the world PEACE. When Jesus was born we felt a JOY we had never felt before because our savior had finally arrived. And in Jesus living and dying for us, we know LOVE; a true love that is stronger than anything else on earth. Hope, peace, joy and love are what the four candles represent on the Advent wreath. These are all of the things God gives to us freely. My prayer for families this Christmas season is that we take the time to relax, reflect on another year come and gone, and to remember what is truly important in our lives.

God bless and Merry Christmas!! Mrs. Englert

Spring Fling 2018 ~ LUAU ~ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Spring Fling donation committee.  Spring Fling ~ LUAU will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018.  Just a reminder that as you organize for the New Year, please consider donating new and unused items, unopened bottles of wine or liquor, and gift cards for the 2018 Spring Fling auction baskets.  They will find new homes and help us raise money to further the mission of Norwalk Catholic School.  Avoid long return lines and awkward re-gifting situations; watch for more information to come home in early 2018 about the Spring Fling.  If you have any question please call Julie Grine 419-668-7223 x275 or email jgrine@ncsmail.org.

News worth Repeating!!

Keep Christ in Christmas Magnets are available for sale in the elementary office for $5 each. These magnets are provided by the Knights of Columbus.

It’s that time of year again for the PTO’s Christmas Cookie Trays for our teachers.  We are in need of many, many cookies!  We will also need help making the trays up on Monday, December 18th, at the ECC at 9:00am.  Please text (419-706-0298) or email (hbbelden@gmail.com) Heather Belden if you are able to donate cookies and/or help create the trays.  Cookies will need to be delivered by 9:00am, December 18th, to either the ECC or elementary offices.  If you are not a baker and are willing to help provide a couple of other needed items such as candy, please contact Heather.

We are Making a Difference: Our school has partnered with First Energy Ohio’s utilities and The National Theatre for Children to save energy this school year. You can help us out by requesting an Energy Efficiency Kit and using it to make your homes energy efficient. These kits contain items like LED bulbs and nightlights that can make a big difference toward saving energy at home. If we sign up for the most kits by the end of the school year, our school will win $2,500! You can sign up for your kit at OhioStudentKit.com using promo code FEOH1718 or call 1-855-343-6600. Don’t forget to have your child hand the Classroom Rewards Form to their teacher by December 18 to help their class win $50! So far, Norwalk Catholic Elementary School has reached 66 Energy Efficiency Kit requests from your families and staff.
