Tuition Scholarships for NCS/SPH

In May 2016, there were 77 scholarships awarded to students totaling $44,900. Thank you to all of our donors for your continued support. Our students and school are so blessed! Scholarship forms will be available with the registration forms in February.

Kathleen E. and Charles P. Amato Endowment Tuition Scholarship
In May of 2016, 4 students were awarded the Kathleen E. and Charles P. Amato Endowment Tuition Scholarship.
The Kathleen E. and Charles P. Amato Endowment Fund was established in memory of Kathleen and Charles Amato by the Amato family to provide financial aid for students attending the Norwalk Catholic School.  This scholarship will be awarded to students in grades 7-11 who demonstrate a financial need and have a GPA or 2.0 or higher average.

Joan C. Camp Scholarship
In May of 2016, 2 students were awarded the Joan C. Camp Scholarship.
This scholarship honors beloved St. Paul Elementary school secretary, Joan C. Camp.  The students must also have a genuine interest in theatre and music and participate in the music and drama programs, and will be given to students in grades 9-11 who maintain a GPA of at least a 2.5 and demonstrates a financial need.

Carl Carnabucci Memorial Education Trust Fund
In May of 2016, 26 students were awarded the Carl Carnabucci Memorial Education Trust Scholarship.
This scholarship honors local businessman, Carl Canabucci, who was committed to Catholic education.  This scholarship will be awarded to students in grades 7-11 who demonstrate a financial need.

Mary Ann Creamer Scholarship
In May of 2016, 2 students were awarded the Mary Ann Creamer Scholarship.
Mary Ann Creamer loved Norwalk Catholic School and St. Paul High School.  She wanted to give students the chance to attend her alma mater.  This scholarship has been established to honor Mary Ann’s passion for teaching teens about the importance of living their lives by following their beliefs and serving others.  Recipients of the Mary Ann Creamer Scholarship are encouraged to lead by example.  This scholarship will be awarded to students in grades 6-11 who are in need of financial assistance and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Gottfried Tuition Scholarship
In May of 2016, 5 students were awarded the Gottfried Tuition Scholarship.
This scholarship honors the tenure of Coach Mike Gottfried who served as the head football coach for St. Paul High School from 1967-1970.  He was always motivating, encouraging and challenging his players.  The students that played for Coach Gottfried or were taught by him or his wife Micky, during theirs time at St. Paul have gifted to the formation of this scholarship to help give students the opportunity to attend St. Paul High School.

Jeffrey H. Hay Community Service Scholarship
In May of 2016, 1 student was awarded the Jeffrey H. Hay Community Service Scholarship.  
The Jeffrey H. Hay Community Service Scholarship has been established to honor the life-long service work of Jeffrey H. Hay by recognizing and rewarding students (grades 8-11) at St. Paul High School who similarly give of their time to provide tangible community service to those in need.  The award recipient is also a shining example to other students through his or her leadership, diligence and thoughtfulness while promoting a giving and positive attitude.  This award may only be received once per student.

Michael H. Hay Scholarship - Music and Sciences, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)
In May of 2016, 27 students were awarded the Michael H. Hay Scholarship.
The Michael H. Hay Scholarship for the Arts & Sciences has been established to honor Mike's engaging and giving spirit along with his love of music, academic excellence and on-going commitment to  giving back in the Norwalk community. Mike has been remembered as someone who always made time to listen,  teach and mentor students in the Norwalk Catholic Schools.  This scholarship will go to deserving students in grades 7-11 who demonstrate their passions academically and in giving back within their community.

McFadden Family Named Endowed Tuition Assistance Scholarship
In May 2016, 3 students were awarded the McFadden Family Scholarship.
The McFadden Family Named Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to recognize and encourage the McFadden Family's commitment to Catholic education.  This fund will provide financial assistance for students attending the Norwalk Catholic School/St. Paul High.  This scholarship will be awarded to students in grades 6-11 who demonstrate a financial need.

The Leo and Martha Smith Family Trust Scholarship
In May of 2016, 1 student was awarded the Leo and Martha Smith Family Trust Scholarship.
The Leo & Martha Smith Family Trust provide tuition scholarships annually for students to attend St. Paul High School.  This scholarship will enable a student in grades 8-11 carrying a 3.2 (B+) average, having financial need, and an interest in the health care field to continue their Catholic Education.

Timothy G. Smith Scholarship
In May of 2016, 4 students were awarded the Timothy G. Smith Scholarship.
The Timothy G. Smith Scholarship, established in memory and honor of Timothy G. Smith, a cherished student at Norwalk Catholic School, will be awarded annually to student(s) wishing to attend Norwalk Catholic School.  This scholarship will be awarded to two students in grades 7-11 with a B or higher average who is in need of financial assistance.

The FCEDO Volunteer Scholarship
In May of 2016, 3 students were awarded the FCEDO Volunteer Scholarship.
The Firelands Catholic Education Development Office (FCEDO) Volunteer Scholarship has been established to acknowledge the dedication and support of the many valued volunteers who are always ready to give of their time and talents as stewards in carrying out the mission of FCEDO.  This scholarship will enable student to continue their Catholic Education and inspire him or her to follow in the footsteps of our many devoted volunteers.  Three scholarships will be given; one to current student in grade 3 through 6, one to a junior high student and one to a high school student.

Duane L. Van Dresser Scholarship
In May of 2016, 1 student was awarded the Duane L. Van Dresser Scholarship.
The Duane L. Van Dresser Effort & Integrity Scholarship has been established to promote and reward students at St. Paul High School to strive to achieve their goals even when they are unsure, to have faith that hard work will produce success, to stand up for what is right and to give of themselves to the community, qualities highly valued by Mr. Van Dresser.  Teachers at St. Paul High School will evaluate the Sophomore and Junior students and choose 3 top candidates who fit the appropriate criteria.  The final recipient is decided by the family.

Regional/State Scholarships

The Northwest Ohio Scholarship is available for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

The Ed Choice Scholarship is available to kindergarten through 3rd grade students.  The Ed Choice Scholarship is renewable through 12th grade as long as you continue to qualify.
